UCC Champion Lavon Miller has accomplished his 3rd overall consecutive win in a row. With a reputation for being a legendary UCC competitor, he and his dedicated team of family, friends, and employees from Firepunk Diesel in Plain City, OH hope to achieve the 4th win in 2019. Millers Cummins has dominated the drag racing portion in the past three UCC events. With continued refinements in power, chassis tuning and configuration he is expected to be at the top of the list once again this year.
At our first annual UCC competition back in 2016, Miller took 2nd place in sled pulling with only 13 feet to go to take the number one spot. He also took 2nd place on the dyno hitting over 2,200 HP and took 1st in drag racing with a winning time of 8.503 seconds. Miller took the overall win for our first UCC competition and he had more up his sleeve for 2017.
In 2017, Miller struggled in the sled pulling competition coming in 6th, but that didn’t stop him from taking the overall win for the second year in a row. He had a winning time of 8.63 seconds on the drag strip and hit almost 2,400 HP which is 200 more HP than he hit in 2016. In 2018, Lavon continued his reign. In the ¼ mile, he had a winning speed of 7.884 seconds as well as a hook in the sled pull competition with almost 330 feet. His once again 1st place overall win proves he has what it takes with a .18 second lead in drag racing and a 5.333 foot lead in sled pulling. He ended the competition with more than 100 points separating him from even the nearest competitor.
The Firepunk Common-Rail Cummins Diesel competition truck is no one-trick pony. His engine is a triple turbocharged, mechanical injected 6.7L Cummins that was built by D&J Precision Machine which led him to take the top spot again for 2018. We can’t wait to see what the team shows up with for 2019, but we can be sure that it will have the potential to put down well over 2,000 HP and will have a good chance of becoming our UCC champion, once again!
Miller is backed by his own shop Firepunk Diesel as well as partnerships with premier racing and diesel motorsport powerhouses including Aeromotive, AGI, Amsoil, Columbus Motorsports, D&J Precision Machine, Diesel Performance Converters, Exergy Performance, TBM Brakes, Turn 14 Distribution, Vibrant Performance, Woolf, and Yukon Gear and Axle. After the amazing success, Lavon Miller and his team have had with the truck here at our UCC competition, it would be very hard to bet against them turning in a stellar performance in 2019, taking the overall UCC Championship title for a 4th consecutive time. While 30+ competitors are eager to take their defending 1st place spot, they have proven that they know how to rise to the occasion, just like any great champion does. We look forward to seeing what Miller and his team bring to the table at our 4th annual Ultimate Callout Challenge 2019!
