Duramax Billet Flex Plates OEM Stamp Steel or Billet Steel

ATS Billet Flex Plates  ATS billet SFI approved, meaning they will stand up the toughest racing application standards. Crafted from the strongest billet steel allowing your transmission to shift smoother, faster and harder with out running the risk of breaking a flexplate. The added strain of racing your high horsepower diesel truck is then directly concentrating the torque to the flexplate, giving it much more pressure than the street factory OEM ever intended to do. The added billet strength allows this high stress situation to be overcome, and transfer all the power to the wheels and transmission making you a winner at the local track. Duramax Allison Transmission Torque Converter Stock and Performance Application

Duramax ATS Allison Torque Converter Stock OEM and Performance The Allison 1000 is one of the stoutest Transmission behind a light duty diesel, however, the factory converters have limitations towing and performing.  OEM units are typically made with stamped metal components and the stall speed is not matched to the motor's torque curve. ATS Triple Lok and Five-Star converters completely eliminate these weaknesses. ATS features a patented square tab clutch design, cut CNC steel, redesigned stators, torrington bearing and stall speed match to the Duramax motor. Both the Triple lock and Five Star are designed to holding increase torque while efficiently transferring it to the transmission and rear wheels. The results is more power to the ground, fuel economy, lower transmission temperatures and grater overall performance power. Programmers or Tuners Can Cause Codes be To Set

Duramax Fuel Pressure Regulator Code Diagnostic P0090, P0088, P0084, P0087 High pressure fuel is regulated by the fuel rail pressure FRP regulator mounted on the fuel injection pump. The FRP regulator is controlled by the engine control module ECM, The FRP regulator has a solenoid supply voltage circuit and solenoid circuit. The ECM monitors the current on the circuits to detect a failure. There are no driveability concerns associated with the FRP regulator unless a DTC is present. The most likely cause of this DTC is a sticking FRP regulator If the fuel system pressure is actually too high, a fuel knock condition will exist. If the fuse that supplies voltage to terminal if the ECM is open, this DTC will set   If P0087 is a present code you will need to check this areas of you truck 1. A restricted, kinked, or damaged fuel supply line may cause DTC P0087 to set 2. If low fuel condition is present and DTC P0084 sets, inspect the fuel sender pickup tube for damage or perforatio

Duramax Balance Rates Test Performed Inconsistent Balance Rates

Duramax Diesel Balance Rates 1. The fuel injector balance test is performed when a misfire, knock, excessive smoke, or rough idle condition exists. 2. This test uses the Balanced Rate and Cylinder Power Balance test to identify cylinders that are not producing the designed power output. 3. The balance rate adjustments are utilized by the engine control with your Edge Monitor CTS2 Programmer only at idle. 4. The bance rates are the fuel adjustments for each individual cylinder base on the variations in engine crankshaft speed sensor. 5. The balance rate will change depending on if the Transmission is in Neutral or Drive. During the Cylinder Power Balance portion of the test, the ECM turns OFF individual injectors while the engine is running. 6. The ECM adjust for the drop on engine RPM during cancellation and may not change on the scan tool display. 7. The lack of power at the cancelled cylinder will feel like a misfirin

Duramax Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor Duramax 4094 VGT

Duramax Power Diesel Turbo Vane  The Duramax diesel turbocharger increases engine power by pumping compressed air into the combustion chambers, allowing a greater quantity of fuel to com-bust at the optimal air or fuel ratio. The duramax 4094 vvt turbine spins as exhaust gas flows out of the engine and over the exhaust turbine blades, and turns the air intake compressor wheel at the other end of the turbine shaft, pumping more air into the intercooler intake system. The engine control module controls nine vanes for the turbocharger. The vanes are used to vary the amount of boost pressure and can control the boost pressure independent of engine speed. The vanes mount to a unison ring which are rotated to change the vane angle. The engine computer will vary the vane angle which adjusts the boost depending upon the load that applied when you accelerate the pedal at the require speed of the engine. The turbocharger vanes ar

Duramax Glow Plugs Operation Glow Plug Relay

Cold Weather Starts and Glow Plugs  Glow Plug System Description Duramax diesel engine, air alone is compressed in the cylinder. Then, after the air has been compressed, a charge of fuel is sprayed into the cylinder and ignition occurs, due to the heat of compression. Eight glow plugs are used as an aid to starting. The glow plug initial ON time will vary based on the system voltage and temperature. Lower temperatures cause longer ON times all the times. The ECM provides glow plug operation after starting a cold engine. This post-start operation is initiated when the ignition switch  is returned to Run, from the Start position. This operation helps clean up excessive white smoke or poor idle quality after starting. Control of the instant start system, glow plugs is determine by an electronic glow plug control unit and  4.7 volt  glow plugs, requiring  2 seconds  to heat up to  1,000°C (1,832°F)  .
