The NHRDA makes its return to Phoenix Arizona for the Desert Diesel Nationals, presented by Strictly Diesel.

OKLAHOMA DIESEL NATIONALS
MAY 21, 2016

Mark your calendars as the NHRDA returns to the Tulsa Raceway Park for the 2nd annual Oklahoma Diesel Nationals.

DIESELS ON THE MOUNTAIN 
JUNE 3-4, 2016

The action kicks off at Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Friday with truck and tractor pulls. Then Saturday the action is at Bandimere Speedway.

MIDWEST TRUCKIN NATIONALS

The NHRDA returns to Gateway Motorsports Park for the 3rd annual Midwest Truckin Nationals.

Duramax 6.6L Valve Adjustment  Duramax Diesel Pickup Truck This is one method used to set the valve lash on your duramax engine Valve adjustment should be performed anytime the heads are removed. It's also good practice to adjust valves during service that require valve cover remove.  TDC (Top Dead Center) First start with, locating the timing mark on the front engine cover and the harmonic balance.  Rotate the crankshaft in order to bring the number 1 cylinder to TDC (Top Dead Center) of the exhaust stroke.                                                     Cold Weather Starts and Glow Plugs  Glow Plug System Description Duramax diesel engine, air alone is compressed in the cylinder. Then, after the air has been compressed, a charge of fuel is sprayed into the cylinder and ignition occurs, due to the heat of compression. Eight glow plugs are used as an aid to starting. The glow plug initial ON time will vary based on the system voltage and temperature. Lower temperatures cause longer ON times all the times. The ECM provides glow plug operation after starting a cold engine. This post-start operation is initiated when the ignition switch  is returned to Run, from the Start position. Duramax Diesel Allison Transmission Fast Learn Procedure

Duramax Equipped With a Allison Transmission Fast Learn Procedure   Initial Test Automatic 5 or 6 Speed Transmission  In general, Fast Learn is a procedure for Allison 1000 Series transmissions in which a series of tests are run to allow the transmission control module TCM to learn individual Clutch characteristics. Once the clutch data is learned, Fast Learn translates it to the adaptive data cells, which the TCM uses for clutch control during range shifts. Fast Learn is used at GM plants, and allows the vehicle to be driven out of the assembly plant in a near fully adapted state to minimize any customer shift concerns.
