Nitrous Explosion 2000 Horsepower Plus Cummins

Dodge Ram Cranking out Some Serious Horsepower.

Diesel Power is the best power. When it comes to getting extra horsepower out of an engine, nothing beats a diesel power plant. In the video, you’ll see Shawn Baca’s Dodge Ram just annihilate a wheel dyno. Black smoke pours out of the exhaust through the hood of the truck like it is an old school freight train barreling down the dyno.

This video was shot at the Edge Products facility in Ogden, Utah in September, 2015 where enthusiasts could bring their vehicles out and see how they stack up against each other. Shawn Baca’s Ram took the crown. Under the hood sits a highly modified 5.9L Cummins with lots of head work, FASS fuel pumps, Industrial Injection triple injector system, and a triple turbo system.

Baca’s truck is set up with a full-blown nitrous system. Without the nitrous, the truck pulled 2,113 horsepower on the dyno. When hitting the nitro button, the truck screamed with 2168 horsepower. We’re talking well beyond big rig power.

Duramax 6.6L Valve Lash Adjustment

Duramax 6.6L Valve Adjustment  Duramax Diesel Pickup Truck This is one method used to set the valve lash on your duramax engine Valve adjustment should be performed anytime the heads are removed. This mark should be aligned with the mark on the engine.  To adjust the valves, start by loosening all the jam nuts with a 14mm wrench, you will also need a flat screwdriver to make the adjustments. Adjust the valve using a .012" feeler gauge Use your .012” feeler gauge between the rocker arm and the valve bridge as pictured. The correct setting is had when there is slight resistance when moving the feeler gauge. It should not...

Duramax Glow Plugs Operation Glow Plug Relay

Cold Weather Starts and Glow Plugs  Glow Plug System Description Duramax diesel engine, air alone is compressed in the cylinder. Then, after the air has been compressed, a charge of fuel is sprayed into the cylinder and ignition occurs, due to the heat of compression. Eight glow plugs are used as an aid to starting. The glow plug initial ON time will vary based on the system voltage and temperature. Lower temperatures cause longer ON times all the times. The ECM provides glow plug operation after starting a cold engine. This post-start operation is initiated when the ignition switch  is returned to Run, from the Start position. This operation helps clean up excessive white smoke or poor idle quality after starting. Control of the instant start system, glow plugs is determine...

Duramax Diesel Allison Transmission Fast Learn Procedure

Duramax Equipped With a Allison Transmission Fast Learn Procedure   Initial Test Automatic 5 or 6 Speed Transmission  In general, Fast Learn is a procedure for Allison 1000 Series transmissions in which a series of tests are run to allow the transmission control module TCM to learn individual Clutch characteristics. Once the clutch data is learned, Fast Learn translates it to the adaptive data cells, which the TCM uses for clutch control during range shifts. Fast Learn is used at GM plants, and allows the vehicle to be driven out of the assembly plant in a near fully adapted state to minimize any customer shift concerns. The scan tool version of Fast Learn is intended to provide the same benefit following transmission repair or replacement at your local shop or Diesel Transmissions Performance Specialist .                                    BD Diesel Power Or...
